Who are you?
We are Stuart and Kathy Lane, and we live in Arlington, Texas, between Fort Worth and Dallas. Stuart is a native Texan who graduated from Lamar High School in Arlington, and Kathy graduated from Arlington High School.
We met at church while we were students at the University of Texas at Arlington and married in 1979 after our junior year. After Stuart received his BBA, he went to Dallas Theological Seminary for his Masters in Theology. Kathy received her BS in Mathematics with teaching certification. Stuart works in business management in the defense industry, while Kathy is a full-time wife, mother, homemaker, and volunteer. She previously homeschooled our four children through high school, successfully preparing them for graduation from major Texas universities.
We became actively involved in the Republican party due in part to home education, but also in support of the pro-life movement. Stuart became a delegate to the Republican state convention in 1992, while Kathy brought the kids to the convention in time for our youngest son, then age two, to shake President George H. W. Bush’s hand.
In 1994, Stuart became a Republican precinct chairman, a job which he held until 2010. Stuart has served the Republican party in various grassroots capacities. He has served on or chaired state, county, and district committees. Stuart also chaired the Tarrant County Senate District 10 convention in 2002, 2004, 2006, and 2008. As the children have grown, Kathy’s involvement has grown. We have attended every Texas state convention as delegates since 1994. Together we have helped in Presidential, U.S. House, State Representative, and local Tarrant County races. It is our hope that the endorsement card helps voters wade through the avalanche of mailers and phone calls each election season. We operate as a team seeking to make Texas an even a better place to live.
